Kim has been an independent education consultant in Mumbai for over 10 years and in 2011 co-founded The Red Pen - an education advisory service. She counsels applicants and their families on educational choices at all levels of learning; boarding school, undergraduate, post graduate and MBA. Kim also works in international schools in Mumbai advising administration and counseling departments on best practices in supporting students for college admissions abroad. Prior to life in Mumbai, Kim taught undergraduate anthropology and writing courses at Duke University and taught at Stanford University as a postdoctoral teaching fellow in the humanities. In Mumbai, she has also conducted courses in anthropology at St. Xavier’s College and writing workshops at the American Center. Through her regular Hindustan Times newspaper column and The Red Pen blog (https://theredpen.in/blog/), Kim offers study abroad tips and advice to readers across India. Originally from California’s Central Valley, Kim has also lived in San Francisco, New York and now calls Mumbai home.
